  WT Indulging In Nostalgia, Soliciting Memorabilia; What's Up?

  you may have notice in a recent kool-aid watchtower, the announcement of its creation at headquarters of an archive of photos, objects, memorabilia, etc.

  i noticed that the lavishly upgraded assembly hall in buckingham, pa. now display in the lobby, glass cases with all sort of such objects.

  it wasn't long ago when they disparaged nostalgia as the preoccupation of spritually bankrupted wordlings who, bereft of any hope for the future, pitiably cling to memories of the "good old days"..... what's up with jehovah's "forward looking" people??

  further to my previous post, this morning i have sent a pm on facebook to this potential jw study to see how his meeting went with the elder's.. will keep you all informed on the outcome..... on another note, there is a jw i can see on fb called leroy s.. here are some of his status updates:.

  ls: my study was reluctant to pray at first, now i can't stop him!!!

  his love for jehovah is growing such a beautiful thing to see!!!.

  yes indeedy.

  if you are fortunate enough to be approved you can report (as in be allowed to report) 15-minute increments.

  i knew that older ones, for example, were encouraged to report even the smallest amount of service and the cong.

  what's the point of all this micro managing? Most people round off (fudge) their reports anyway.

  any bethelite whom served the past 5/6 years remembers gerritt loesch's morning worship when he mentioned over 40% of those in special full-time service (bethel, missionary, co, do) were on antidepressants, such as prozac.

  conventions start may 18 according to jw.org.. hopefully, there will drops in baptisms as reported from 2011. unfortunately, there will be the poor kids..

  Yes, trying to talk people back into the organization is the main theme of the current Special Day assemblies; they've been pushing this notion hard since the Memorial.

  Phizzy, it's not the bottom of the market in that location --- the area is highly prized -- one ot the most desirable in the entire city -- and pretty well immune to the vagaries of the general market.
